Is Apple Music better than Spotify and Pandora?? Let’s find out!

When Pandora and Spotify became popular, I tried to use them, like them, and understand the hype. I downloaded and re-downloaded both of them countless times but I was always dissatisfied and I wasn't hooked enough to pay for no ads. Apple Music came out a bit more recently and at first I ignored it. I figured it would just be another music steaming service.

Ever since my original iPod Nano, I bought my music from iTunes and then later downloaded my music from the internet for free when I learned how. I've managed to transfer my entire library from iPhone to iPhone and between 3 different Macs (which if you know Apple, is not an easy feat). Nonetheless, I have every song on my phone and computer from the age of maybe 8 including all the classic Disney Channel songs by Hannah Montana, The Cheetah Girls, and Hilary Duff. Whenever I heard a song I liked I'd Shazam it, write down the title in my notes, and then when I got a big enough list, I'd spend hours converting and downloading them from YouTube and uploading them to my phone. They weren't always the best quality or volume, but they worked for me. No ads, I could pick any specific song I wanted and play it, and I got to keep the songs permanently in one big place. I've never been someone to listen to music by artist or album or genre so the whole playlist idea never enticed me.

Finally one day, I got a free trial for Apple Music from some website who was advertising them and I absolutely fell in love. I can use it as a country music station if I'm so inclined but if I just want to listen like normal I can. But you're probably wondering, what makes it different or better than Spotify and Pandora? Well ladies and gentleman, in Apple Music, since it's the same app as your regular iTunes music, you can just search a song and download it for free into your library! It's only $10 a month and you get every feature of Pandora or Spotify except all my music from childhood and current songs I download are in one place. There are no ads with the $10 subscription and you can still make playlists or listen to radios and discover new music but it completely removed the process of me making lists and finding songs on YouTube and downloading them. If I hear a new song somewhere, I can just search it and download it into my library immediately.

I don't know if this excites anyone else like it does me but this is what I had been waiting for. I could be the only one that actually uses iTunes anymore but it's one less app I have to have on my phone and one less list in my notes! I also just removed myself from my mom's phone plan so I now have a free year of Disney + as well as a permanent complimentary Apple Music membership. I cannot speak highly enough about Apple Music and how convenient and easy to use it is. Go use your free trial and let me know if I’ve converted you because if you’re all about Apple, you’ll love it! Thanks for reading my completely bias yet not sponsored review.

I hope I made your day,

XOXO Gabriella Blais
