Bare with me guys. I know probably 90% of you are very hesitant to read this post because you don't believe in astrology and think horoscopes are crap and are just bored in quarantine so you clicked this link. I was right there with you until a couple months ago. But I promise this will be so fascinating, especially if you know me well and will give you something to look into for yourself after!
A few months ago before the virus broke out, I was at a friends house with a group of people and one of the girls that was there got talking about astrology. She asked if I had ever looked at my birth chart to which I responded "no" so she asked for my date, time, and location of birth. She then proceeded to tell me about an app called Co-Star where you can enter all of this information and it will give you your birth chart. This just tells you where each planet in the galaxy was aligned at the exact time and place of your birth. Each planet then has a different meaning within your personality, such as the way you communicate, love, fight, and how you process moods and emotions. Until she told me all this, I only knew what's called your sun sign, which is probably what all of you think of when you are asked your zodiac sign. Mine is libra and the reason why so many people don't believe in astrology is because this sign only represents the basic identities of your personality. When you have read horoscopes or descriptions and stereotypes of your sign, usually, only some parts are accurate because all the other planet alignments create the rest of your personality. It makes sense that in order for the puzzle to make sense, you need all the pieces. Since the descriptions for each planet can contradict each other, it’s important to know which planet determines what part of your personality.
The planets are Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, and Pluto. The signs are Aries, Leo, Cancer, Pisces, Scorpio, Taurus, Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius. There are also 12 houses each ruled by a different sign. When interpreting your birth chart, you look at the meaning of each planet, the house it's in, and the sign it is. There is also the ascendant which is the "mask" you present to people. For those of you who don't know me well and have only met me briefly or seen me from afar, this is probably how I come off to you. Or it was your first impression of me. I will explain each of my planets and which signs and houses they're in and what that means and I'll also point out if something is incredibly accurate or just incorrect.
As I mentioned, my Sun is in Libra. The sun determines your ego, identity, and role in life. It's the core of who you are. This means I am fundamentally oriented towards fairness and justice. I think this is where my “political” views stem from. I see both sides of a situation but can come off as indecisive and I'm always rethinking and questioning my views because I don't tie myself down to a single one. I do what I say and can get a lot done. I'm more impressionable than I appear and am typically well-dressed. My sun is in my 11th house which means I feel the need to distinguish myself from others through social status, including platonic and casual friends, along with my hopes, wishes, and dreams.
My moon is in Taurus. The moon rules your emotions, moods, and feelings. This is most likely the sign you most think of yourself as since it reflects your personality when you're alone or deeply comfortable. My emotional self is very romantic and sentimental. I'm loyal to the people I care about and try hard to maintain security and stability within those relationships. I feel powerless to fix messy situations, but I'm sensible and practical when thinking through those things. It's in my 7th house, meaning I find security and safety through close relationships and long term partnerships. I really resonate with all of this because I've always thought of myself as a hopeless romantic and I've only ever had a small number of really close friends at a time that I cherish rather than a big group that is surface level.
My ascendant is in Scorpio. The ascendant can be seen in your personal style and for me, this was the most accurate description and I have been perceived this way since I was a teenager. It is said to be less accurate as you get older which I would also agree with. I come across as passionate, incisive, cunning (hence me being a Slytherin), strategic, and perceptive. My intense and tenacious drive comes off as intimidating and powerful if not malicious and aggressive. This explains why mom mom told me, even as a kid, that boys don't approach me because I'm intimidating and why every girl I meet thinks I'm a cold bitch at first.
Mercury determines how you communicate, talk, think, learn, and process information. Mine is in Virgo, meaning my intellect is analytical, precise, and diligent. I have a tendency to nitpick and point out what's wrong rather than what's right (I'm a perfectionist). I’m a planner, hence my wedding planning business, and I pay attention to the details. Guys, book your wedding, astrology just sold my skills for me. It's in my 10th house which means I'm curious about and inclined to analyze my responsibilities and what I need to accomplish in the world.
Venus determines how and what you love and indicates how you express affection and the qualities you're attracted to. My Venus is in Leo meaning my romantic side is idealistic af. I am telling you guys, this could not be more true. I have a list a mile long, I want a romance movie in real life, I am so picky with extremely high standards. It's a blessing because one day it'll pay off but being single until then sucks. I need a lot of love, care, and validation and in return I don't hold anything back. I want passion but to someone else it can seem like I like drama. I promise boys, I don't like drama. Venus is in my 10th house meaning that for me, love is often expressed in goals, success, and responsibility.
Mars is the planet of aggression. It determines how you assert yourself, take action, and the energy that surrounds you. This is particularly in your sex life, when you're angry, and your ambitiousness. My Mars is in Leo meaning I assert myself in a way that is authoritative and persuasive and I push things forward with confidence and gusto. In other words, I'm stubborn, I need to get my point across, and I will make the first move. It's in my 9th house meaning I put a lot of energy into philosophy, faith, education, and politics. Again, this is 100% true. I'm not religious but I am spiritual because I believe in what I have named the "Fate Gods". They control the universe, everything happens for a reason, we don't really have a choice in anything because we're all on a set path and we're always where we are meant to be in life. I put a lot of weight on philosophies of life, faith, education, and politics when dating especially.
Jupiter is one of two social planets and it rules idealism, optimism, and expansion. Mine is in Capricorn which means I grow and find understanding through responsibility, practicality, ambition, seriousness, efficiency, rationality, and power. It's in my 2nd house meaning I find success through money and material possessions. Now this had me shook you guys. I have always been a spender, I always have a list of the next things I want to buy, and as much as I love to travel, it is so hard for me to save enough to do it as often as I'd like.
Saturn is the other social planet and rules responsibility, restrictions, limits, boundaries, fears, and self discipline. My Saturn is in Aries, meaning I struggle with aggression, impatience, hastiness, and conceit. It's in my 5th house meaning I have difficulties with romance, self expression, creativity, and pleasure. The first part of this I find very true but the house part is confusing to me. I think this would be one of the examples where the planets can contradict each other and one takes over.
Uranus stays in each sign for 7 years so it rules a generation. (I'm a millennial) This rules innovation, rebellion, and progress. Mine is in Aquarius meaning that other generations are shocked by my generation's unconventionality, intellectuality, and detatchedness. It's in my 3rd house meaning that for me personally, this manifests in rebelling against dated expectations about the things you know and are familiar with. I would say all of this is completely true and you guys should let me know if you agree if you’re also in my generation!
Neptune stays in each sign for 14 years so it also rules a generation. It rules dreams, imagination, and the unconscious. My Neptune is in Capricorn, meaning that my entire generation finds inspiration through hard work, responsibility, seriousness, and ambition. It's in my 3rd house meaning that for me, this manifests in my ideal, verging on unrealistic and impractical, about the things I know and am familiar with.
Last but not least we have Pluto! My Pluto is in Sagittarius which lasts for up to 30 years. It rules power, intensity, obsession, and control. My generation's psyche is comparatively positive, free-spirited, curious, optimistic, forward-looking, independent, and confident. It's in my 1st house, meaning that I am transforming my self and self image and this is hyper-present in my personality. This explains why I'm interested in introspection and personality because I want to be evolving and growing from everything I encounter in life.
If you‘re still hesitant, think about it this way. How could it be possible that the planets don't have at least some control over us and how we are created because the moon on it’s own makes waves! I mean I think this is all pretty incredible and a little bit life changing. Another really cool part of the app is that you can connect with friends through your contacts and see the compatibility with each planet and the ones I've read so far have been extremely accurate. I just find every type of personality test or analyzation fascinating and grab any opportunity to be introspective and learn about myself and why I am the way I am. The app is free so go download Co-Star and keep a look out because over the next several months, I'll be doing a series here and on my YouTube channel talking about every personality test you can imagine!
I hope I made your day,
