Welcome back everyone!! I took a long hiatus from my blog and my YouTube channel to allow space on the platforms for the BLM movement. of course it still needs to be posted about, and we must educate ourselves, donate, protest, and demand change in the system, however, I do have to get back to my regular scheduled posts! So today, I’m reviewing a company I’ve purchased from since the beginning of the year and that I truly love!
I decided to write about Fabletics today because I just saw a review on YouTube for a company that allows people to become VIP members in order to get discounts. The person reviewing the website and product was not a fan of the tactic and it inspired me to write this post. She thought it was a shady way to run a business and said it was inconvenient when she wanted to cancel. Now I cannot speak to the other company however it got me thinking.
I started using Fabletics in the beginning of 2020. I joined a gym as a new years resolution and I knew that I needed to increase my workout wardrobe. Looking cute when working out to some people is superficial. To me, it is a way to feel confident and look good. It is a great way to get motivated to improve my body even more and get it so it looks that great all the time, not just in cute, tight leggings. The company was created by Kate Hudson and the whole idea is to have cute workout clothes for inside the gym and lounging at home. As with the other company reviewed in the YouTube video I saw, you do have the option to become a vip member to get discounts instead of paying full price.
Honestly, the way it’s set up, I don't know why you wouldn't join. The price is great and they have personalized suggestions of new products monthly based on your previous purchases. Unlike other subscriptions, you don't have to pay every month unless you want to. The cost is $59.99 every month but you can skip as many times as you want in a row. Between the 1st and the 5th of every month, you can skip and choose not to pay the $59.99 but if you forget, you want to pay, or you want to purchase product that month, the money is saved to your account to use on any products you want to buy in the future. It's a very unique and innovative way to go about a subscription service.
As far as sizing, I order a Medium Sports Bra and a Small in everything else. So far, all but 1 pair of leggings have fit perfectly. If you're like me, you put all clothes in the dryer so just be prepared for the leggings to shrink just the tiniest bit in length. I have short legs so its not the biggest deal if they go from full length to 7/8 length but if you have long legs, that might be something to note to dry your clothes on a rack.
When I pick out my outfits, I sometimes choose the monthly suggestions and sometimes use their quizzes to quide me in the right direction. They continually come out with new styles and designs that are unique and creative! I love going to the gym and having outfits so much more interesting than everyone else. No one has the same leggings or shirt and you'll never see the same patterns, fabrics, or detailing anywhere else!
Fabletics is owned by the same company as JustFab, a shoe company with the same philosophy. They have every shoe you could ever imagine and the price isn't any more expensive than DSW, which is where I've gotten all of my other shoes for the last 10 years. I think JustFab has a wider variety but they're sizing is a bit small in comparison. At DSW I always ordered 7 but in JustFab I would choose a 7.5.
Overall, I don’t know why the other YouTuber had such an issue with the way this type of subscription works but I feel like it’s the best of both worlds! You can get discounts and you don’t have to pay monthly! Plus the quality and style are awesome. I urge you to try it out for yourself and let me know what you think! I’ve already convinced several friends and family members to order their own sets.
It’s so good to be back writing for all of you and I’ll be back next Sunday with another post! I hope I made your day,
Gabriella
