Hey guys, today I'm going to be telling you about my all time favorite makeup, skincare, and beauty products. It's just a little bit to tell you about me and what I like to use. I have enjoyed playing with makeup, watching beauty videos on YouTube, and being artistic and creative with products ever since I was a teenager. Believe me when I say I have gone from the cheapest of the cheap drugstore brands, to more high end, high quality products. I do of course want to get the best bang for my buck, so I won't throw away $50 on just any foundation, but after trial and tribulation, I do believe that generally, within the beauty industry, you do get what you pay for, and I'm glad to have been able to try out and purchase the more expensive products in the market. Below, I have written out what products I use for my skin and makeup routine and what I like about each one, so that you can decide if you want to test out some of them or if you already have, let me know if you love them like I do or if you're not such a big fan!
Do keep in mind though, that most days, I don't wear any makeup, so when I do, it's probably a special occasion...maybe that's why I'm more okay spending a little more money, because it lasts much longer. As far as skincare, I wash my face everytime I shower, and use moisturizer at least once everyday on my face, but other than that, I really just use masks, serums, toners, or gels when I feel my skin really needs it or I'm just in the mood for a little pampering. I would however like to get in the habit of doing skincare daily, so if you already do, props to you!
Makeup
Primer: Cover FX Blurring Primer
This primer is great if you need to even out the texture of your skin and fill in your pores. It will give a smooth surface for your foundation to go on top of!
Foundation: Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
I love this foundation because it leaves a natural, dewy finish. It is definitely full coverage but it can still be used for an everyday look!
Foundation: Dior 24H Wear Radiant Perfection Foundation
I use this foundation when I want a glam, beat face. It is extremely full coverage and it stays on like glue! If you're wearing this for a long time or are going to be sweating because of dancing all night, this is the way to go! I have dry skin though so this is still great for a glowing finish.
Concealer: Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
I use this concealer over my Nars foundation. They work so well together if you use a concealer one shade lighter than your skin. That way, it works great for covering your under eyes as well as brightening and highlighting them!
Concealer: Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
This is the all time best concealer I've ever used. It is widely popular in the makeup industry and I pair this with my Dior foundation because it's SOOO full coverage.
Loose Baking Powder: Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder
This is the equivalent of Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder for dry skin. I couldn't use the main powder that all the youtubers use because my skin would look flaky but this is so moisturizing I never have that problem. This also adds such a beautiful sparkling finish to your skin without being glitter. It isn't as good for baking, but honestly it doesn't matter when it comes to how long it makes my makeup last!
Bronzer: Marc Jacobs Omega Bronzer
Once again, this is a beauty guru's holy grail of makeup products. It is a universal bronzer for someone with tanner skin in the summer or who wants a deeper bronze in the winter. There is also a lighter shade if this is too dark. It comes with a huge pan and it is great to just bronze up the whole face.
Contour/Highlight: Tarte Pro Glow Palette
I add this contour over my bronzer to give more depth and dimension to my face. I use an angled brush to focus where I put my contour and this is how I magically reshape my nose! Its a perfect consistency for blending and the highlighters are perfect for any skin tone winter or summer!
Highlight: Becca Champagne Pop
Here is the highlighter everyone's been talking about since it came out! It really is just as beautiful as everyone says with the perfect balance of white, tan, and pink undertones. It shimmers and shines and I use this to blend with my tarte highlighter to brighten my face.
I can't remember where I got this blush but it will last me for all of eternity! It's a great shade for me but it's so pigmented that I don't even need to put my brush in it every use. I can use the leftover from the day before. It looks great blended with highlight and contour and on an otherwise blank face!
Brow Pencil: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
This is a miracle worker. It allows for such thin, natural strokes to immitate real hairs. No matter how much hair you are starting out with, you can draw in the perfect on fleak brow. I'll never use anything else.
Brow Gel: Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel
This pairs wonderfully with my previous product. After I draw on my eyebrow, I use this gel to make sure the color is as rich as the hair on my head. Naturally, my brows are much lighter and finer so this is important to darken the physical hairs as opposed to defining just the shape.
Eyeshadow: James Charles Artist Palette
I can't speak highly enough of this palette. James really did what he wanted to accomplish with this palette which was to allow people to create any look. Whether you are a beginner or a pro or you want a colorful look or natural, these shadows are pigmented and blendable and work perfectly with his brush set that is linked below.
Eyeshadow: Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette
This is like the ultimate neutral eye look palette. Jaclyn Hill was a genius with these colors and this formula. Its so buttery and smooth and you can go for a glam sparkling smokey eye or an everyday pink look.
Eyeliner: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
I don't use eyeliner very often but this is perfect for any wing. It gives such a sharp, thin point and is the deepest black. That is everything I need in an eyeliner.
Mascara: Two Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
This mascara is one for ensuring your eyelashes are volumized, black, and long. You want fake eyelashes without fake eyelashes, this is the product for you.
Lashes: House of Lashes
I know everyone thinks fake eyelashes are a nightmare to put on, but all you need it the right length lash and some glue. Start with the middle and then the edges, but the glu has to be tacky! And if the eyelash is too long for your eye, it is so much more likely to come off on the dancefloor.
Lipstick: Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick
If you ask me, lipstick is the one way to take any look up 10 levels. Whether you're only rocking eyebrows and mascara or your whole face is beat, lipstick changes the game. Kylie lipsticks are such a great texture and there are beautiful colors! Exotic or nudes, these will complete every look...if you add anything to your go to products, add this.
Setting Spray: Morphe Continuous Setting Mist
This setting spray is fairly new on the market and Morphe lovers are going crazy over it. The light mist is perfect because it doesn't leave a wet mask over your face, it soaks in and leaves your makeup dewy all day. It's also perfect for shimmer and glitter eyeshadows to ensure they are as pigmented as possible!
Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
If you need your makeup to stay on all day, all night, and in your sleep, this is the setting spray for you. It is indestructable; your makeup will be as perfect at the end of the day as it was from the moment of application.
Brushes/Sponge: James Charles Makeup Brush Set
It took me a lot to bite the bullet on this purchase because I didn't believe that the brushes made a difference with application. Boy was I wrong. With every product I own, having these quality brushes made blending so much easier, faster, and seemless. For anyone struggling with eyeshadows, this is your solution!
I swear by this lotion. It has 1% hydrocortisone and it is a unique formula created by a dermatologist. A couple years ago, I had constant dry, flaky skin. I tried everything possible, and when I finally came across this, I never looked back; it's a miracle.
I got this in a set as a gift from the Sephora rewards program. It is such a great way to moisturize and take care of your skin right before bed. The whole set is a quick and easy routine to get into that feels luxurious and fresh.
I got this in a pair of products from Sephora for my brithday and once again, they did not disappoint. It is a nourishing cream perfect for after you cleanse your face of makeup.
Cleanser/Gels/Serums/Oils: Tula Purifying Cleanser
I only own the cleanser in this set of products but it is the best cleanser that I own. I use it everyday in the shower after I get home from the gym and my skin is left feeling so clean and it helps with my acne a lot. If I go a short period without it, I definitely notice a difference. I got this from my FabFitFun subscription which I will talk about below.
This cleanser was the other product in my Drunk Elephant birthday gift from Sephora and it is such a unique texture and product. It is very light and refreshing and leaves your skin feeling bright and clear.
Biossance Squalane & Peptide Eye Gel, Biossance Squalane & Phyto-Retinol Serum, Biossance Squalance & Vitamin C Rose Oil
These three products above complete the set from Sephora by Biossance. They are luxurious and I use them about once a week as my nighttime routine. I sleep in them and in the morning my skin is hydrated, it smells amazing, and brighter with a more even skin tone. It also helps with skin elasticity.
Chapstick: Dr. Dan's Cortibalm
This chapstick is the only thing that helped my chronic chapped lips a few years ago. I might've had concentrated psoriasis, I don't know, but this was also uniquely formulated by a dermatologist with 1% hydrocortisone and it worked over all balms, masks, and oils. It's cheap and it's like magic! I only need to use it once a day, if that!
I also have the occasional extra pamper night where I use products I received in my FabFitFun boxes. It's a subscription that I get every season for $50 and it comes with something like 10 full sized products. It could be anything from a makeup product, to skincare, to haircare, to gym equipment, to blankets and scarves, or jewelry! You can select your preferences on your profile and change them anytime you want and you can customize which products you get for about half the box. It's such a great treat when it comes in the mail and it's the perfect way to try new products that you've haven't heard of or that you wouldn't be willing to buy full price on their own. I will write a separate blog post about all the different products I've received since I started in the future but for now, I hope you enjoyed seeing my favorite makeup and skincare products!
Until next week, I hope I made your day!
